Great animation, entertaining story, dubbing not too shabby! The animation in this film is definately not western. Japanese animation has always been among the highest quality in the world, and Ninja scroll is no exception. The characters and story, although predictable, are still a blast. The "action" is great, as well as the "realism". In one scene, one of the main characters is punched several times by a demon made from rock! Naturally, he bleeds, is badly bruised and later pulls out a tooth from the encounter: great "realism"! The action is great with strange and wild demons with fascinating abilites. The main characters are well thought out in design, and are portrayed with natural movement and great detail. The dubbed version of this movie is great. Naturally, not everything can be translated perfectly, but there were no akward, struggling voice actors, and or scenes where sentences had been thrown together for continuity. The only thing keeping me from giving this movie five stars is my strict taste in epics.. I would only give an epic 5 stars, so ninja scroll gets the next best thing. Buy it now and ENJOY!
