Capitol 全盛時代のロマンティック・ミュージックの大いなる遺産。Jackie Gleason と言えばＴＶ司会、映画”Hustler”などにも出演した俳優であったり、ゴルフのスポンサーをしたり、と忙しい人であったそうです。しかし何と言っても彼の指揮する音楽が素晴らしい。1950 年代から 60 年代の良きアメリカを代表する楽団でした。重厚なストリングズをバックにジャズマンのソロイストが気持ち良さそうにスタンダード・メロディーを奏でます。ＬＰは数十枚と聞きますが、それほど集め切れませんでした。しかしいずれを取ってもコルネット、サックス、ピアノ、トロンボーン、オーボエ等々のジャズ・フィーリング溢れる演奏は、夜の気分を盛り上げるに十分です。本ＣＤの２曲目の艶かしい演奏はすぐに聴き手を虜にするでしょう。
